Cotton & Flax

Again - sorry for the hiatus. I stumbled across this  online shop today. It goes by the name of Cotton & Flax. I'm a little in love with the simple beauty of this ladies textiles! So much so it's brought me out of my blogging slumber. I hope you had the chance to enjoy the long weekend and hopefully it won't be so long until we next meet. Now - to go daub perfectly aesthetic brushstrokes all over my pillows ...

Ethical Clothes Rail

It's Thursday. Which means a) it's almost the weekend and b) it's time for a year of ethical fashion update! Themed blog post despisers - bare with me.  So far my YOEF is going alrighty - having not really been to the shops. However, with Christmas money still to burn and time to forget and/ or forgive the frantic pre-xmas capitalism binge* - is it just me - or are the sales looking increasingly attractive? But is there an ethical way to pick up a bargain? Why yes - shop wisely and there is a chance you can replace your moth eaten clothes with limited guilt **.  For that reason I've created an ensemble of items from my favourite ethical brands (prices correct at time of publishing).

1// Miriam Red Fleece Dress by People Tree £65.00 £19.50
2// Kelly by Beyond Skin £89.00 £55.00
3// Annie Merino Wool Jumper by Bibico £79.00 £39.00

* this statement may have been influenced by J, who is reading exerts from Morrissey's  Biog as I type ...
** the need for online shopping is the downfall of many of these items. There's a danger that added postage, packaging and "ghost-town-causing" might hinder the good.Oh darn it ...

The Knit Kid

Colour blocked knits at their best, perfect for slinging on when the temperature drops during these summer  months; ideal if you are like me and partial to lugging around a precautionary extra layer ...

Walls that Peel

All Hygge & West

I'd quite like a cat and a garden would be nice too. However, such things are a little taboo whilst renting I find. Wallpapering, now that's an impossible middle class dream, surely? Not so, when Hygge & West are offering up peel-able wallpaper tiles. Geometric shapes and mustard? I'm sold.

disclaimer I am not a class snob. If you happen to own a home, good on you!

Brighter Day

I'm loving the simplicity of these clutches and pouches, handmade by Whitney of Brighter Day. If you're after a nice project for the weekend, head over here for a great tutorial on making the bow clutch (shown above in mustard, my favourite). Happy Friday people.

People Tree

I'm not sure about you, but after the weekend, with late nights and lazy mornings, the first day of the week comes as a shock! Especially when I'm up at the crack of dawn! This bedraggled feeling often spreads to what I'm wearing ... that's why today, I'm sharing a few of my favourites from People Trees SS13 collection. There's something about the vintage feel to the cuts and ease of wearing (I'm not convinced that's even a 'fashion term', but what the heck) - what do you think?
